A Message from COO Rich Miner - 
When I was given the tremendous honor of becoming THOR’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), our CEO Johnny Walker said to me, “THOR, is a very good company, but I want us to be even better.” It was at that point we began to ask ourselves – what exactly does it mean to be “even better,” and how exactly do we get there? We knew we had great people doing great things for our customers, so we already had the most important ingredient for a great company in place.

Someone asked me for a few thoughts on our new THOR motto, “Fleet First.” In sum, it’s just that – our priority at THOR is keeping our troops – our Sailors and Marines – our ships, submarines, boats, and craft number one — number one in readiness, num­ber one in capability, and number one capacity – we all have a part to play.

The US Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Bertholf (WMSL-750), while participat­ing in a Western Pacific patrol with the US Navy, transited the Taiwan Strait ac­companied by the USS Curtis Wilbur.
