THOR’s Training Development team has established a reputation for producing technically sound, high quality training solutions for the everchanging specialized market. The team’s commitment to quality and versatile talents allows them to be flexible and tackle all challenges presented. Stood up in October 2015, the team consisted of only two members.
Original team member Jennifer Bougher remembers walking in her first day both excited and nervous to start the new task of developing curriculum, “It took a lot of reading and hard work, but we were up for the task.” The team quickly found its feet and became technically proficient while working on their first course (LM2500 Gas Turbine Engine).
The team currently consists of Program Manager Kelly Allen, Karen Holland, Tina Sevaaetasi, Jennifer Bougher, and Erica Bortnick. The team utilizes the PADDIE+M process (Plan, Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate, plus Life-Cycle Maintenance) in order to create high quality training products. Comprised of training development professionals with a combined work experience of 111 years, the team provides a variety of training solutions ranging from mechanical systems (steam, diesel, and gas turbine propulsion systems; auxiliary equipment; and hydraulics) and electrical systems (electrical distribution, power generation, and electrohydraulics) to chemical treatment (boiler) systems and deck systems.
THOR’s Training Development team has a Department of Defense (DOD) and commercial reputation for excellence and routinely produces state-of-the-art, computer-based content that can be deployed on any device, anywhere and at any time, with reusability that equates to cost savings. Developing top quality training solutions is a very specialized skill, and only the best technical writers, Quality Assurance (QA) experts, and graphic specialists work on training solutions for our clients.
With over 16 training courses developed to-date, THOR’s training products are delivered on time and within budget, always keeping in mind who the product is for and how important it is to provide them quality. When asked his thoughts about the Training Development team, Senior VP Dan Henderson stated, “With such a proven and positive reputation, our customers could not be in more reliable hands”.
