On 24 August 2020, THOR Solutions, LLC was awarded a five-year, Seaport-NxG prime Task Order to provide Instructor and Training Development support for the MK VI Patrol Boat to the Coastal Riverine Force (CRF) Training Evaluation Unit (TEU). The CRF represents a unique capability within the Navy and, as such, squadrons require specialized/advanced training at the individual and unit levels prior to deployment.  Coastal Riverine Group ONE (CRG-1) and Coastal Riverine Group TWO (CRG-2) units maintain a presence in all Navy Fleet concentration areas. CRG-1 and CRG-2 established TEUs to support Coastal Riverine Squadron (CRS) Unit Level Training (ULT) and advanced tactics training requirements for three Active Component (AC) and four Reserve Component (RC) squadrons. The TEUs are the sole units providing the requisite training to each CRS prior to deployment.

Under this vehicle, THOR will develop basic and advanced MK VI PB Engineering curriculum and deliver the Course of Instruction (COI). Tasking will include providing support to the TEUs with a support team at CRG-1 and CRG-2 with Subject Matter Experts (SME) experienced in MK VI PB to create a robust curriculum and to deliver the COI to CRF MK VI PB crew engineers Maintenance Operations Support Teams (MOST) and Maintenance Support Teams (MST). THOR’s Training Department will develop curriculum, using Navy Education Training Command (NETC) to support a basic/advanced MK VI PB Engineering COI targeting craft and MOST and MST engineers and will consist of fundamentals and MK VI PB advanced engineering instruction. THOR will provide instructors for the MK VI PB Engineering group to include CRF instruction, staff instructor training and qualification, maintenance of current course design and curriculum, logistical coordination, and training schedule development. MK VI PB COI will be conducted on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story (JEBLC-FS), Virginia Beach, VA; Navy Outlying Landing Field (NOLF-IB), San Diego, CA; Santa Rita, Guam; and Bahrain.

The contract will be managed out of THOR’s Virginia Beach, VA office and will be led by Tina Sevaaetasi, THOR’s Fleet Operations Program Manager. “We are thrilled to provide training services to the Coastal Riverine Force. This is a great opportunity, and we look forward to helping them achieve their mission,” Ms. Sevaaetasi stated. Bruce Honey, THOR’s Project Manager for this contract, concurred with Tina’s assessment in stating, “It is wonderful that THOR will be developing and delivering the MK VI training. This gives us an excellent opportunity to provide mission-critical support to the sailors working in CRG-1 and CRG-2.”
