THOR, is a member of the Management & Technology Services Alliance (MTSA) Team selected to provide Program Man­agement, Engineering, and Logistics Support Services to the US Coast Guard Director of Acquisition Programs / Pro­gram Executive Officer (CG-93). The PEO oversees the acquisition, integration, and delivery of assets and systems from the Coast Guard’s recapitalization investment programs. These programs are aligned ac­cording to three major domains – surface, aviation, and C4ISR – as well as those of the acquisition logistics program area, deliver the next-generation aircraft, surface ves­sels, C4ISR mission systems, and support capabilities that help ensure Coast Guard mission capability into the 21st century.

This 4-year, $27M contract will provide direct support to not only the front office of CG-93 but also to the Assistant Program Executive Officers for Aviation Programs (CG-931) and Surface Programs (CG-932). Additionally, the following six acquisition programs will be supported: In-Service Vessel Sustainment Program (CG-9323), Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Program (CG- 9324), Boats Program (CG-9325), Major Acquisition System Infrastructure (MASI) Program, Polar Sea Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Program (CG-9327). 

Mike Obar, THOR’s Chief Engineer and Head of the Naval Architecture and Ship­building Support Business Unit, is excited about the win. “This new vehicle will en­able us to continue delivering the same high-quality technical expertise to the Coast Guard that we have been providing for the last ten years,” Obar said. “This award builds on Thor’s ongoing efforts supporting the National Security Cutter Program (CG-9321), Offshore Patrol Cutter Program (CG-9322), Polar Security Cutter Program (CG-9326), and Ship Design Team (CG-459). With this award, our company is now supporting all of the major USCG sur­face acquisition and program offices.”

The THOR Team supporting these initia­tives will be managed by Korey Gross, in THOR’s Engineering Division. Work will be performed at both Coast Guard Headquar­ters in Washington, DC and THOR’s Home Office in Shirlington, Virginia.
