THOR provides the US Coast Guard Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Program Office with programmatic, engineering, and technical support. The Sentinel-Class FRC is a new patrol boat capable of deploying independently to conduct missions that include port, waterways and coast security, fishery patrols, search and rescue, and national defense. The Coast Guard is acquiring 58 FRCs to replace the 1980s-era Island-Class patrol boats. THOR’s support of the FRC Project includes Pre-Commissioning (PRECOM) ship construction oversight of systems installation and testing, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) review, crew training and post ship delivery support of trials, inspections and warranty item work.
